Process Engineer Lead

Job Description

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Process & Technical Engineering Manager to lead technical operations, drive process improvements, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on involvement in engineering processes within a polysilicon/chemical manufacturing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development



Provide leadership and clear direction to staff, fostering a high-performance culture through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Identify skill gaps and establish structured training and development plans for team members.

Process Improvement & Optimization



Track, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives. Implement structured improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. Apply strong analytical skills to interpret equipment and process performance data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.

Technical & Engineering Management



Oversee all technical activities including maintenance strategies, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and engineering project support. Approve technical recommendations and equipment modifications based on safety, cost efficiency, and performance. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, best practices, and relevant industry codes.

Safety & Compliance



Maintain and update Process Safety Information (PSI), including mass balance, chemical registry, MSDS, and PHA reports. Communicate updated PSI to process owners and relevant support teams. Support identification and management of Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) with cross-functional teams. Lead or participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities, including HAZOP studies. Promote strong safety awareness across the department.

Project & Performance Management



Manage CAPEX projects including budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning. Track section performance through KPIs such as downtime, maintenance cost, reliability metrics, and response times. Prepare and deliver performance reports and insights to management.

Job Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing or Chemical preferred). Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a polysilicon or chemical plant, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong general and specialized understanding of chemical plant equipment and processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills. Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required. Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety standards. Holding a valid Technologist Title under the Malaysian Board of Technologists is an added advantage.

Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
