We are seeking for a Process Engineer - Test System (Hardware) to be based in Bangsar South, KL. In this role, the Process Engineer - Test System (Hardware) will be responsible to develop and upgrade test systems and execute projects, to ensure the system meets and conforms to QMS and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Develop stable and reliable manufacturing processes within Cochlear and at suppliers of manufactured components.
  • Repair and upgrade test systems & electronic equipment to ensure all production equipment is running to full capacity. Ensure adequate spares to meet the above requirement.
  • Design improvements to existing electronic systems and develop basic electronic systems to improve production throughput.
  • Upgrade existing test systems and equipment to replace obsolete Hardware & software.
  • Build and Introduce new Instances to meet the Production requirements
  • Software Change and release to support new build standards and fixing of production issues.
  • Review R & D test system design to ensure they meet production requirements with regard to execution time, maintainability, WHS, reliability and are adequately documented.
  • Participate in Test system R & D activities during test system development & verification and get trained so that test systems can be supported in production with minimum R & D assistance.
  • Understand test systems requirements from Regulatory and Quality Systems perspective by interacting with these functions and formulate V & V process and documentations.
  • Ensure the business needs are met and projects are delivered on time and on cost.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years\' experience in design and development, mechanical design or electronic design, software driven test, software integration and evaluation processes on manufacturing projects.
  • Minimum degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
  • Strong in electronic circuit or mechanical design or both is a MUST
  • PC skills - board level repair of PCs, software installation and basic networking. Ability to configure PCs from OS installation to full operation.
  • Experience in defining and implementing project plans, manage milestones, and hold required reviews to assure test solution readiness for product release is a MUST
  • Good theory in acoustic and Radio Frequency (RF) is a MUST
  • Knowledge in test measurement, instrumentation, and system integration. Ideally practical knowledge of NI instruments
  • Knowledge in software programming language and scripting (e.g: LabVIEW, Python, C+ and command line usage. Well versed in Mechanical (design, understanding of human factors, hands-on assembly).
  • Experience in design experiments, develop protocols, perform equipment validation is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on in soldering and component assembly.
  • Familiar with Medical Industry standards and test system qualification requirements.
