Responsible for diverse sourcing activities, including fabrication parts, purchased parts, and complete modules, focusing on new developments, projects, and alternative sourcing to ensure secured supply.
Leverage extensive experience in Asian material availability to localize European content, achieve cost savings, and optimize the supply base through strategic relationships, contracting and performance improvements.
Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate contracts with both product-related (PR) and non-product related (NPR) suppliers, ensuring alignment with the Senior Director of Material Management.
Focus negotiations on achieving open calculation and total cost reductions, particularly for project-based procurement.
Cost and Lead-Time Optimization:
Work to reduce lead times (LT), minimize long lead items (LLI), and lower minimal order quantities (MoQ) to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Collaborate with suppliers to address escalated issues and agree on corrective actions or identify alternative suppliers when necessary.
Purchasing Parameters Management:
Ensure that all necessary purchasing parameters, including vendor data and contracts, are properly documented and stored.
Take appropriate actions to maintain the integrity and accuracy of purchasing information.
Analysis and Strategic Planning:
Prepare detailed analyses and statistics to support sourcing strategies and strategic planning initiatives.
Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to enhance material management decisions.
Development Part Coordination:
Coordinate the validation process for development parts, working closely with related departments and vendors until parts are validated and qualified.
Ensure suppliers understand and comply with the requirements during the development phase.
Supplier Audits:
Conduct supplier audits to ensure vendors are fully equipped to supply the required items and that their facilities are in optimal condition.
Verify that suppliers apply the correct methods and procedures during development and production.
Continuous Improvement:
Continuously seek opportunities for improvement within work areas to strengthen the supply chain.
Propose alternative suppliers and processes to mitigate business risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Material Management department.
