Role Description: As a Lead Procurement/Buyer Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement process for equipment, materials, and services that meet the stringent requirements of our organization. This full-time, on-site position based in Petaling Jaya demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in procurement, particularly in the energy, process, and petrochemical industries. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 1. Conducting thorough evaluations of suppliers, assessing their capabilities, and selecting the most suitable partners to meet our procurement needs. 2. Issuing purchase orders, negotiating terms and conditions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. 3. Analyzing procurement data, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, and implementing effective strategies to optimize procurement operations. 4. Collaborating closely with internal departments such as engineering, operations, and finance to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with procurement activities. 5. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering a collaborative environment to drive continuous improvement and innovation. 6. Creating and managing Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Qualifications: To excel in this role, you will need: 1. Malaysian citizenship is mandatory. 2. A minimum of 7 to 10 years of proven experience in a Procurement Engineer role, with a focus on the energy, process, and petrochemical industries. 3. In-depth knowledge of supplier evaluation methodologies, procurement best practices, and industry-specific regulations and standards. 4. A Bachelor\'s degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field. 5. Exceptional negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving favorable terms and conditions with suppliers. 6. Proficiency in creating and managing purchase orders, coupled with strong analytical abilities to interpret procurement data and make informed decisions. 7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. 8. Experience in procurement for turnkey projects, including familiarity with buyer scope definitions and contractual requirements in the energy, process, and petrochemical industries.
