A Procurement Manager vacancy has become available at a leading manufacturer of comprehensive range of piping system, with a strong presence in Malaysia. Our company is recognised as a stable and sustainable player in our area of expertise and has grown dynamically into several plants with over 600 headcounts in 50 years. About the Procurement Manager Role: In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating the supply chain and procurement operations while establishing strong business partnerships with our various Business Units (BUs). Your intricacy in managing end-to-end procurement processes and inventory management will be crucial to ensure our operations run seamlessly. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Key Responsibilities: Manage supply chain, procure to pay operations and BU collaboration on related job activities; Undertake end-to-end procurement processes, including import documentation, shipments/logistics, and inventory management; Monitor and forecast prices of direct materials employing robust analysis of commodity oil price, forex trend, cost impact and market opportunities; Execute category management activities, such as sourcing, contract management, suppliers\' negotiation and buyer productivity maximization; Foster suppliers\' relationships and broaden network contacts through diversifying the vendors pool; Collaborate closely with BUs to understand the production dynamics enabling alignment in inventory and logistic processes to drive performance and business outcomes; Develop and implement procurement strategies, cost saving initiatives, clean sheet analysis and lead issues resolution activities; Support cross border logistic and government activities and actively participate in bidding projects papers; Steer change management, build capabilities, facilitate process enhancements and ERP implementation; Lead and motivate team members to achieve agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while continuously fostering their career growth Support any other reasonable duties as required. Key Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration or relevant field of study; A minimum of 5 years working experience at a managerial level in procurement field of sizable manufacturing companies; Track record in achieving significant results in direct material procurement, negotiating contracts, and managing categories with a minimum annual transaction value of RM100 million; Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal communication. Fluency in Mandarin is required as you will be communicating with suppliers based in China; Experience in international dealing and shipments, with knowledge in customs procedures, sales tax exemption, CEPT and sales tax on materials; Ability to keep up with world oil prices and forex trend; Excellent numeracy and computer literacy skills in Microsoft Excel, and practical experience in ERP, procurement transformation, digitalisation, or change initiatives. Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic skills, attention to detail, possess project management skills; Experience in the plastic industry is of added advantage.
