Product Designer

Responsibilities & Authorities

Design and develop locking mechanisms, including wafer, pin tumbler, and electronic locks, ensuring security and functionality. Create and manage detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for lock components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Ensure designs meet functional, security, and durability requirements across a variety of applications. Participate in the product development lifecycle, contributing from initial concept through to mass production. Support prototype design, build, assembly, and testing processes, focusing on durability and long-term performance. Develop and maintain accurate BOM and engineering specifications that define components and subassemblies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, manufacturing, and quality to ensure design feasibility and product reliability.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanical product development environment. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, with demonstrated experience in mechanism design, strength, and reliability. Proven experience designing consumer-oriented products using various manufacturing processes and materials, including die casting, injection molding, stamping, machining, and more. Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD, MS Office Suite, and general PC skills.

Skills & Knowledge (Required or To Be Provided)

Technical proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks). Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying ideas through hand sketches, 3D modeling, technical drawings, and project documentation. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and apply both conceptual and hands-on engineering principles. Skilled in selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for diverse applications. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Chinese (verbal and written) is a plus.

Additional Remarks:

Submission of relevant design portfolio is required. Appeal test will be conducted.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
