Job Description

This role will lead pilot plant trials, plan and implement product / process development projects.

1. To lead pilot plant trials.

2. To plan and implement product and process development projects and to ensure projects are carried out in an accurate and timely manner. Ensuring good record keeping.

3. To be involved in trial production monitoring and coordinate with production personnel on the product and process recipe.

4. To evaluate new raw materials / additives / process aids for production use.

5. To provide recommendations to reformulate products when off specification.

6. To provide assistance during investigation of quality issue, when necessary.

7. To manage specification for online process quality control.

8. To manage specification and datasheet program in SAP system.

9. To collaborate with the Applications, Internal Technical Support and Customer Technical Support teams in development and application projects.

10. To ensure good housekeeping and to maintain and improve safety, as well as cleanliness of lab / pilot plant.

11. Assist, as required, with other related projects and activities.

12. Routinely check quality of raw material, shelf life study.

13. Monitor lab cleanliness and equipment maintenance.

14. Provide regular formulation expertise to maximize the value captured in the sale of products.

15. Provide technical expertise / support in the area of shortenings and margarines, from both a processing and product development perspective.

16. To carry out other responsibilities assigned by Management.

1. Degree / Master Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or other relevant fields.

2. Minimum 2 years working experience in edible fats and oil related field. Confectionary and Bakery experience is desirable.

3. Computer literate.

4. Familiar with fats/oils chemistry, processing and texturizing know-how are highly desirable.

5. Demonstrate initiative, drive, resilience, resourceful and has the ability to work independently as well as in a team.

6. Strong problem solving, organization, good interpersonal and time management skills with ability to lead activities

7. Good project management skills. Able to work independently with minimum supervision.

8. Ability to build strong, good working relationships with internal peers, production personnel, QC, and sales.

9. Good command of the English and Bahasa Malaysia mandatory. Mandarin will be advantageous.

Bunge
