Job Description

• To prepare Bill of Quantity (BQ) for new drawings and new projects. To update and modify the existing BQ according to the changes made in the new drawings.
• To identify the total dimensions of the materials requested by the clients and to calculate the total weight and surface area according to the type of materials for accounting purpose.
• To check the availability of requested materials based on BQ with Purchasing Department. Feedback to clients through email, phone conversation or meeting if the material is not available. Propose the alternative materials to clients and get approval to proceed by getting the official confirmation with PO from clients. Included raise Purchase Requisition (PR)
• To sort the items in drawings by fabrication methods such as single parts (plates), rolled pipes (plates) or machining parts after getting the official PO.
• To prepare the One to One scaled drawing for single parts for fabrication at workshop purpose.
• To monitor and follow up the progress of production line. Update the production team with revision drawings if there is, to provide the Single parts drawings for CNC fabrication and to guide the production team if there are any problems/ doubts of production line.
• To prepare/ design new drawings according to customer\xe2\x80\x99s requirement or redraw and update the existing drawings.
• To plan the packing of the product after the project completed for delivery.
• To handle project coordination such as to prepare project schedule, to prepare reports, to deal with sub- contractor, to conduct site meeting, inspection and to monitor the progress of the project.
• To discuss and to solve the complex problems with Production/ Fabrication Department, Sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
• To ensure a product can be reproduce reliably and can perform consistently in specified operating environments.
• To coordinate with fabricator and to provide support to all teams and maintain quality of all work processes in system.
• To perform any other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time and as required.

REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• Minimum 3 years work experience in structural steel works will be added advantage;
• Knowledge of Autocad & solid work and other design/ drafting software will be an added advantage;
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Able to speak and write in Chinese is an added advantage;
