Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of the plant, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. They manage resources, lead a team, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and meet regulatory requirements.

• Plant Operations: Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the oil palm processing plant, including the reception, sterilization, threshing, extraction, refining, and storage of palm oil and related products.
• Production Planning: Develop production plans, schedules, and targets in coordination with other departments and stakeholders. Optimize production processes to maximize output while maintaining quality standards.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements. Monitor production processes, conduct inspections, and address any quality issues or deviations promptly.
• Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively, including human resources, equipment, materials, and utilities. Optimize resource utilization and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
• Health and Safety: Establish and enforce safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all plant personnel. Conduct regular safety inspections, provide training, and promote a safety-conscious culture.
• Maintenance and Reliability: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure proper maintenance, repair, and reliability of plant equipment and machinery. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
• Team Management: Lead and supervise a team of plant staff, including operators, technicians, and support personnel. Set performance goals, provide guidance, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing plant operations, environmental conservation, and occupational health and safety.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction. Implement best practices, innovative technologies, and industry advancements to enhance plant performance and competitiveness.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, suppliers, contractors, and community representatives. Foster positive relationships and engage in effective communication to address issues and promote the industry\'s growth and sustainability.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (5 years) in a managerial role within a consumer pack manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a data-driven and results-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems for production planning and control.
• Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing operations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
