Lead and optimize end-to-end production planning and scheduling by translating sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory data into accurate daily, weekly, and monthly production plans that ensure on-time, cost-effective manufacturing.
Manage capacity, material, and inventory planning by aligning labor, machinery, and aterial requirements (MRP), monitoring work-in-progress, resolving bottlenecks, and coordinating cross-functionally to maintain smooth production flow and optimal stock levels.
Drive operational excellence and compliance by enforcing quality, safety, and regulatory standards, implementing continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean manufacturing), and delivering clear performance reports and insights to senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The core role of a production planning manager is to oversee and optimize the entire production planning and scheduling process to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, within budget, and on time to meet customer demand.
Create detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and current inventory levels.
Conduct Capacity and Material Planning (MRP): Analyse and optimize production capacity (labor and machinery) and determine the exact material, equipment, and labour requirements (Material Requirements Planning or MRP) to fulfill the production plan.
Monitor and control inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods to achieve optimal stock levels, prevent stockouts, and minimize excess storage costs.
Serve as the central liaison, coordinating closely with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality Control to ensure seamless material flow, delivery timelines, and overall plan alignment.
Track work-in-progress, identify production bottlenecks, material shortages, and equipment failures, and implement prompt adjustments and solutions to minimize delays.
Guarantee that all planning and scheduling activities adhere to established quality standards, company safety policies, and industry regulations (e.g., ISO procedures).
Champion and recommend initiatives (such as Lean manufacturing) to continuously improve production workflows, enhance resource utilization, and drive overall operational efficiency.
Generate and present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics such as schedule adherence, efficiency rates, production status, and cost control.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering (Others), Logistic/Transportation or equivalent.
Possess at least 10 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position, preferably from metal industry.
