About the role:
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily manufacturing operations to ensure production goals are achieved with high standards of quality and safety. Based at the Sungai Jawi facility in Penang, you will play a key role in driving operational efficiency by leading a team of production operators, monitoring machinery, and collaborating with cross-functional departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics.
This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills, as you will be managing production schedules, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and maintaining clear and timely reporting to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure production targets and deadlines are met while maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards.
Operate and monitor production machinery when required, providing basic troubleshooting support to minimize downtime and ensure consistent workflow.
Train, guide, and assign tasks to production operators, ensuring proper machine handling, compliance with quality procedures, and effective workload distribution based on priorities.
Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless coordination across departments and efficient resolution of operational issues.
Perform quality checks on products during and after production, maintain accurate reports, and submit daily, weekly, or monthly updates to management to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Possess a minimum of Diploma or equivalent; training or a degree in production management is an advantage.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, quality, and safety standards.
Proven leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
Good communication skills with basic proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
Able to work in a fast-paced setting and willing to work shifts or overtime if required.
