Main Purposes of this Position:



The Project Coordinator position carries out research assignments as part of a team of investigators in a multi-faceted research project funded by the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH). The research focuses on Men who Have Sex with Men. The project coordinator manages project-related activities between principal investigators, community partners, project consultants, project sites, and clinical service providers. Assists with research planning and design. Responsible for the daily operations of the research activities. Manages study-related data and oversees quality control activities. Ensures compliance with the study protocol and overall study activities.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



To carry out research tasks according to the research protocol. Generally, these include:

Carries out research within the scope of the established study protocol. Adherence to all human subjects' regulations as defined by the University of Malaya, Yale University, University of Connecticut, and U.S. NIH. Develops, submits, and manages original institutional review board (IRB) submissions. Develops forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques; write procedures manuals for data collection and coding. Collaborate with the tech team and developers to develop, deploy, test, and refine the mHealth tools and their features, ensuring a user-friendly experience. Recruits and manages individuals to participate in study-related activities, such as focus group discussions, online and in-person surveys, and other study activities. Produces and disseminate announcements to support the recruitment of participants into the research studies. Organize and coordinate research meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and action items. Communicate regularly with the research team, tech team, clinic staff, and community partners to ensure smooth project execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:



Ideal candidates should hold a master's in public health (M.P.H.), a Psychology degree, or other graduate-level degree in the social-behavioral or health science field. Candidates with only a bachelor's degree should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in human subjects, particularly in the areas of social-behavioral research." Maintain ethical conduct and maturity when asking sensitive questions.

Must be fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English

(Chinese or Tamil will be a bonus) Ability to quickly problem solve and work collaboratively under pressure Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and flexibility Ability to communicate project updates to the multidisciplinary team Ability to learn via training, new software for project management, data management, etc. Ability to work independently and with strong communication skills. Knowledgeable and experienced in outreach and/or research engagement with Men who Have Sex with Men.

Salary Scale



RM2900 - RM3500 per month. Depending on qualification and experience.
