Job Summary
The Project Engineer - Data Centre is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of data centre construction or upgrade projects. This role ensures that all technical, quality, safety, and schedule requirements are met, with a strong focus on mission-critical systems such as power, cooling, fire protection, and IT infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Coordination
Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring data centre projects
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Ensure project activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and scope
Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
Technical Oversight
Review and coordinate design drawings (electrical, mechanical, ELV, ICT, and CSA)
Support implementation of mission-critical systems including UPS, generators, MV/LV systems, cooling (CRAC/CRAH), BMS, fire detection and suppression
Ensure redundancy, reliability, and availability requirements (Tier I-IV) are met
Resolve technical issues and RFIs during construction and installation
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with data centre standards and best practices (Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, ISO)
Ensure all works comply with safety, health, and environmental requirements
Participate in inspections, audits, and quality checks
Support commissioning, testing, and integrated systems testing (IST)
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain project documentation including method statements, shop drawings, and technical submittals
Track changes, variations, and as-built drawings
Prepare progress reports and technical updates for management
Support handover documentation and O&M manuals
Commissioning & Handover
Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing
Support site acceptance testing (SAT) and factory acceptance testing (FAT)
Assist in final inspections and client handover
Ensure readiness for operations and maintenance teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline)
3-7 years of experience in data centre, mission-critical, or similar infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of data centre systems and design principles
Experience working on Tier II, III, or IV data centres is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices
Skills & Competencies

Excellent coordination and communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple disciplines and interfaces
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools
Working Conditions
Site-based role with office and field responsibilities
May require shift work, night work, or extended hours during critical activities
High-pressure environment with strict timelines and uptime requirements
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
