Job Description

1.Role Summary

The Design/Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical design, engineering, and execution of industrial automation projects (SCADA, PLC, RTU, and related systems). The role involves developing engineering specifications, reviewing proposals, and managing project implementation to ensure solutions meet client requirements and industry standards. This engineer also supports the Proposal Engineer by validating technical details and advising on product/equipment specifications.

2.Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Specification

o Develop detailed design documents, drawings, and system architecture for SCADA, PLC, RTU, and automation solutions.

o Define equipment specifications and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.

o Validate proposal documents prepared by the Proposal Engineer from a technical perspective.

Project Execution & Management

o Lead technical implementation of awarded projects, including installation, testing, and commissioning.

o Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery.

o Prepare project documentation, including FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) procedures.

o Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Technical Support

o Provide technical guidance to Proposal Engineers, Sales, and other departments.

o Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution.

o Support client meetings by explaining technical aspects and justifying solution designs.

Vendor & Product Integration

o Work with WAGO and other automation brands to integrate hardware/software into client projects.

o Evaluate new technologies and solutions for possible adoption.

Project Documentation

o Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and project progress.

o Prepare as-built documentation and project handover packages.

3.Requirements

Education

Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or related Engineering field.

Experience

2 -7 years' experience in design or project engineering within industrial automation.

Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLC, RTU, control systems, and communication protocols.

Experience with project execution, testing, and commissioning.

Skills

Ability to design system architecture, panel layout, and wiring diagrams.

Familiarity with automation software (PLC programming, SCADA configuration, etc.).

Strong project management and coordination skills.

Proficiency in engineering tools (AutoCAD, or similar).

Good communication skills to interact with clients and project stakeholders.

Added Advantage

Experience with WAGO automation systems or equivalent platforms.

Knowledge of industry practices (ISO, ATEX, IEC).

Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or relevant safety standards.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)
