Project Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute significantly to controlling project expenditures and enhancing financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:



Cost Estimation & Budget Management



Develop comprehensive cost estimates for upcoming construction projects. Prepare and oversee project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Evaluate the cost-effectiveness and financial viability of proposed developments.

Tendering & Contract Administration



Draft tender documentation and evaluate contractor submissions. Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements with vendors and subcontractors. Ensure that all contractual and legal obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Financial Control



Track and regulate expenditures to maintain budget compliance. Identify financial risks and recommend strategies for cost optimization. Manage variations in project scope and provide detailed cost impact assessments.

Valuation & Payment Processing



Assess on-site completed work to determine interim and final valuations. Review and certify contractor payment claims and invoices. Generate financial performance reports throughout the project duration.

Procurement & Materials Coordination



Obtain materials and services in a cost-efficient and timely manner. Ensure procurement activities remain within budgetary limits.

Regulatory Compliance & Dispute Management



Ensure full compliance with building codes and statutory requirements. Manage contractual disputes and cost-related claims effectively.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting



Liaise with project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and clients. Provide expert financial insights and generate regular cost reports. Participate in site meetings to address cost and contract-related concerns.

Skills & Qualifications:



Educational Background:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a relevant discipline.

Certifications:

Membership with RICS or similar professional bodies is a plus.

Software Proficiency:

Hands-on experience with cost management tools such as CostX or Bluebeam.

Financial & Negotiation Skills:

Strong capability in budget management, cost analysis, and contract negotiation.

Specialized Knowledge:

Prior experience handling government tenders and procurement is highly preferred.

Communication:

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to draft clear, concise reports.

Detail-Oriented:

High level of accuracy in cost evaluations and contract documentation.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
