The Proposal Writer is responsible for creating, organizing, and delivering high-quality proposals, RFP (Request for Proposal) responses, and related documents that effectively communicate the organization's value proposition. This role requires strong writing, research, and project coordination skills to develop compelling, accurate, and persuasive content that aligns with client requirements and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal Development
Draft, edit, and format proposal documents, RFP responses, and related content with clarity and precision.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical teams to gather and synthesize information.
Ensure proposals are compliant with client requirements and submission guidelines.
2. Content Management
Maintain a centralized repository of proposal templates, boilerplate content, and past submissions.
Update and refine content to reflect the latest company offerings, achievements, and differentiators.
Develop case studies, capability statements, and supporting materials for proposals.
3. Research & Analysis
Research client requirements, industry trends, and competitor insights to tailor proposals effectively.
Analyze RFP documentation to identify key requirements, deadlines, and deliverables.
4. Quality Assurance
Proofread and edit proposals for grammar, style, consistency, and compliance.
Ensure documents meet brand, quality, and professional standards.
5. Coordination & Collaboration
Work closely with sales, marketing, technical, and legal teams to ensure accurate and aligned content.
Track and manage proposal timelines, ensuring timely delivery of all submissions.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or business communications.
Experience with RFPs, RFIs, and bid documentation, preferably in [industry, e.g., IT, engineering, or professional services].
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong research, editing, and proofreading abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with proposal automation tools is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
