Position Overview:

The

Protege - RTW Electrical Engineer Assistant

will support the electrical engineering team in the design, coordination, installation, and inspection of electrical systems in active construction and development projects. This role is designed for entry-level candidates or recent graduates looking to gain practical, real-time working (RTW) experience in electrical engineering, especially in the building and infrastructure sectors.

Educational Background:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Or other related engineering fields

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of electrical design drawings, layouts, and specifications. Support the review of electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLD) , and load distribution plans. Participate in site inspections, testing & commissioning, and progress monitoring. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure compliance with design requirements. Help prepare technical documentation for tender submissions, approvals, and compliance with regulatory standards. Support in ensuring all works adhere to safety regulations and electrical standards (e.g., MS IEC, Suruhanjaya Tenaga). Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues during installation or testing phases. Document all field observations, RFIs, changes, and testing results for reporting and follow-up. Perform other tasks as assigned to support the engineering team.

Skills and Competencies:

Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and basic knowledge of electrical, simulation or design tools or equivalent. Basic understanding of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, grounding, and ELV systems. Good analytical and technical problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn, adapt, and perform both office-based and site-based tasks. Knowledge of local electrical principles and industry standards is an added advantage.
