Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement instruments and systems used in manufacturing and quality control processes. The QA Metrology Technician is responsible for calibration, maintenance, and verification of all measuring equipment in compliance with internal procedures and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform calibration, verification, and maintenance of measuring and test equipment (MTE) according to schedule. Maintain up-to-date calibration records and ensure traceability to national/international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025). Support quality investigations related to measurement deviations or out-of-spec results. Assist in the development and implementation of metrology procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Coordinate with external calibration vendors and ensure proper documentation of third-party calibration. Monitor and report measurement uncertainties and take necessary corrective actions. Conduct incoming and in-process inspections using precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMM, height gauges). Train production and quality staff on proper use and care of measuring instruments. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other relevant quality management systems. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary metrology-related documentation and data.
