Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily restaurant operations of an international corporate cafeteria with a strong focus on food safety, workplace safety, quality assurance, and service excellence. The role ensures full compliance with client and company standards while driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
Implement and enforce company SOPs, KPIs, and SLAs.
Lead internal audits and ensure audit readiness at all times.
Conduct regular inspections and training to ensure quality consistency.
2. Procurement Compliance & Accountability
Oversee all unit purchases in compliance with Client's SOP, including request approvals, price comparisons, and Finance submissions.
Maintain full documentation and traceability for all purchase activities.
Coordinate with HQ Finance and Cost Control for budget tracking and back charges.
Supervise receiving of raw materials with the Chef to verify quality, quantity, and specifications.
3. Manpower Management
Plan and manage manpower to meet operational needs.
Conduct staff training, retraining, and performance evaluation.
Promote a positive team culture that aligns with company values.
4. Front-of-House Operations
Oversee day-to-day front-of-house operations to maintain excellent service standards.
Monitor customer flow, cleanliness, and service quality.
Lead by example and support the team in achieving operational goals.
5. VIP Service & Client Relations
Deliver high-standard VIP and executive dining services (training provided).
Coordinate with kitchen and operations teams for VIP events.
Maintain strong communication and relationships with key clients and users.
6. Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Ensure all equipment and facilities are in good working order.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and record keeping.
Liaise with HQ Maintenance and vendors for repairs.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and submit required reports accurately and on time.
Maintain organized records for audits and performance tracking.
Support management in client reporting and review meetings.
8. Customer Service Excellence
Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally.
Lead initiatives to enhance user satisfaction and dining experience.
Collaborate with HQ Marketing for engagement activities when required.
9. Administrative Duties
Manage administrative functions including records, schedules, and inventory documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
Support unit budget and petty cash control.
10. Replacement Backup & Ad-Hoc Duties
Act as replacement backup for Supervisor or Storekeeper when required.
Support other business units under The House of Taste Sdn Bhd as assigned.
Perform other duties as instructed by the Executive Chef, Head Chef, or Management.
Requirements
Degree in Quality Assurance, Hospitality, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in QA, or F&B operations management.
Proficiency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and digital tools.
Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient task execution.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
