Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (Mechanical/Industrial preferred).
5+ years of experience
in quality engineering, ideally in
metal fabrication
or
precision machining
industries.
In-depth knowledge of
ISO 9001
and
ISO 14001
standards and implementation.
Experience with CMMs, and precision measuring tools.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance requirements related to manufacturing (e.g., hazardous waste, emissions, recycling).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with quality tools and methodologies.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma, or internal auditor certification preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of quality control procedures and Inspection processes for metal fabrication.
Maintain and improve compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems). Investigate non-conformances, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor and support environmental performance goals, including waste reduction, emissions tracking, and resource efficiency.
Oversee and maintain documentation for both quality and environmental management systems, including audits, management reviews, and training records.
Coordinate and conduct internal audits; support external audits (customer, regulatory, and certification bodies). Work cross-functionally with engineering and production to ensure that manufacturing processes meet quality and environmental requirements.
Evaluate and approve supplier quality performance and incoming material inspections to ensure conformance with specifications and standards.
Monitor and coordinate equipment calibration (internal and external) to ensure inspection and production tools remain compliant and reliable.
Utilize tools such as SPC, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, and Lean/Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement in product quality and environmental impact.
Mentor quality technicians and inspectors and provide training on both quality and environmental standards and best practices.
