Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BQ), cost estimates, tender documentation, and specifications.
Evaluate and recommend tenders and/or quotations.
Participate in feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, labour costs and risk assessments.
Prepare rate analysis for works.
Monitor project cost and commercial performance.
Prepare progress claims, interim valuations, final accounts, and variation orders (VO).
Evaluate subcontractor claims and payment certifications.
Liaise with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors for project coordination.
Conduct site visits and measurements to verify actual progress and quantities.
Maintain accurate and updated project cost data and documentation.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
Draft and review contractual correspondence and notifications.
Assist in resolving contractual disputes or issues.
Source and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers.
Negotiate rates and terms with vendors.
Prepare cost control reports, cash flow forecasts, and project budget monitoring.
Present monthly cost reports to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 6 years of working experience in quantity surveying, preferably in construction/infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of pre- and post-contract works.
Familiar with standard forms of contracts (e.g., PAM, CIDB, JKR, FIDIC).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software (e.g., CostX, Glodon).
Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
