-Prepare Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans for Music in alignment with the school's curriculum and Cambridge framework.
-Teach a range of music topics including rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, and music appreciation.
-Develop students' practical skills in singing, instrumental performance, and ensemble participation.
-Organize and conduct school music events, concerts, and performances.
-Foster creativity and self-expression through composing, improvising, and performing.
-Assess and evaluate students' musical progress, providing feedback and progress reports for the Academic Head and/or parents.
-Integrate technology and digital tools (e.g., music production apps, online learning platforms) to enhance music teaching and learning.
-Encourage cross-curricular collaboration by integrating music into other subjects and school projects.
-Maintain instruments, music equipment, and classroom resources to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
-Participate in school assemblies, events, and co-curricular activities, promoting school culture and community engagement.
-Keep abreast with current trends in music education, performance, and pedagogy.
-Be technology-savvy and able to conduct online music lessons effectively if required.
Job Requirement
-Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent) preferred.
-Minimum 2-5 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international or Cambridge IGCSE curriculum setting.
-Strong background in music theory, instrumental/vocal performance, and ensemble direction.
-Proficient in at least one musical instrument; piano, guitar, or vocal training preferred.
-Experience in planning and leading musical events or productions.
-Excellent communication, creativity, and classroom management skills.
-Passionate about inspiring students to appreciate and enjoy music.
-Highly motivated, responsible, compassionate, and innovative.
-Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.
-Computer literate with the ability to use digital music software and multimedia tools.
