As part of the Global Security team, the role of the Regional Security Director will be to provide leadership and direction to the APAC region (excluding China). You will be the principal security point of contact for Regional leaders. You will be required to contribute towards designing, developing and deploying the Security Framework, Strategy, Standards and Procedures in line with the Global Security stated vision. Drive proactive and reactive security initiatives across the region to protect AstraZeneca employees, estate, products, patients, proprietary information and reputation; in order to preserve business innovation growth and efficiency.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Lead all Global Security affairs for the Region ensuring that Global Security strategy, goals and responsibilities are implemented and maintained ethically and effectively.
  • Provide oversight and leadership on security-related activities as the primary security focal-point for the region and business leaders located therein.
  • Coordinate security assurance reviews across the AstraZeneca estate, in collaboration with the Site Security Managers/Security Champions and Facilities Management
  • Develop and lead the Security Network in the Region to ensure those with a security responsibility are fully informed of the requirements of the Global Security Standards, have an open forum for sharing best practice, and a secure forum to share threat intelligence.
  • To be the AstraZeneca Security Lead at the Governance/Steering Committee level for the contracted regional security provider(s)
  • Identify and assess security related risks within the Region and maintain a Regional Risk Register in collaboration with Global Security Intelligence \xe2\x80\x93 advise and report to the Head of Global Security as appropriate
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all incidents involving crime, security violations, critical security intelligence and security-related trends via appropriate reporting systems
  • Review site/Marketing Company incident reports within the Region and provide guidance to ensure their timely closure
  • Provide advice and assistance in a timely, accurate and consistent manner throughout the region, at all levels including senior business managers
  • Provide security resources, including short notice response to crisis situations, to protect the assets and employees of AstraZeneca throughout the Region.
  • Keep abreast of relevant travel security risk as well as maintain oversight of travel security support activities (i.e., escorts, meet and greet, etc.) in collaboration with the Global Travel and Events Security Manager
  • Organize and oversee executive protection for the SET/Board when travelling and at meeting venues across the region when required, and in accordance with the Global Executive Protection Standard
  • Develop and maintain appropriate liaison with law enforcement agencies as required
  • Support AZ product security investigations within Region.
  • Identify and address pertinent statutory and regulatory security requirements in the assigned region.
  • Provide support to business continuity efforts as necessary. Partner with related functions to contribute to a holistic Business Continuity Plan with the intent of assisting in the mitigation of impacts from multi-spectrum events.
  • Participate in the development of country-level crisis and evacuation plans for high-risk countries in the region
  • Actively participate in exercise simulation scenarios to test the various high-risk country and site crisis plans. Identify and propose gap resolutions for local crisis plans.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:
  • Experience in a security role at regional level in a multinational corporate environment in a regulated industry
  • Commercial experience dealing with and influencing senior business partners
  • Experience of liaising with law enforcement / government bodies regionally
  • Former roles which have proven leadership and transformation skills
  • Experience of Crisis Management and Business Continuity
  • Experience of senior level briefing / influencing
  • Spoken and written proficiency in English \xe2\x80\x93 other languages desirable
Desirable:
  • Experience of representation at industry forums and trade groups
  • Good presentation skills and experience of leading cross functional working groups
  • A Global Network of security industry contacts
  • Experience of leveraging data insights and technology to support development of global strategy
  • Linkage to external senior stakeholders (Intelligence Services, Law Enforcement, Security Peers)
