Job Description







  • Manage and oversee the machinery service department for East Malaysia region.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery (Excavators, Backhoe, Crane, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a service department in the heavy machinery industry.


Our client from the heavy machinery industry is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Regional Service Manager to oversee and manage the service at East Malaysia region while based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by managing the service team to provide efficient and effective repair, maintenance, and installation services to customers in the region.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the service department, including the day-to-day operations, scheduling of work, and ensuring that service requests are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that all service work is completed to the highest standard and in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to promote the company's service capabilities and to identify opportunities for service contract renewals and equipment upgrades.
  • Manage and monitor the service team's performance, provide coaching, mentoring, and support as needed, and develop training programs to enhance technical skills and customer service abilities.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of parts and materials required for service work.
  • Monitor and control departmental costs, including labor, parts, and expenses, and provide regular reporting to the General Manager on departmental performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing timely updates on service work progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service work, including time and materials, and ensure that all paperwork and documentation are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing a service department in the heavy machinery industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery (Excavators, Backhoe, Crane, etc), including hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel within the East Malaysia region as required.
