SUMMARY OF THE ROLE The R&D Chemist is responsible to develop and maintain products in Decorative segment, in consultation with the Manager/Senior Chemist, by preparing, testing and evaluating the paint/binder/raw materials contributing to the achievement of the goals of the R&D plan. This position will be reporting to the Senior R&D Chemist II/Category Manager and will based in Shah Alam, Selangor. Responsibilities Contribute by developing and maintaining products under professional guidance by preparing, testing, and evaluating recipes, and raw materials according to the R&D plan. Report the results from development and maintenance work both orally and written through reports to ensure that the correct decisions based on current experience are made. Search for and make use of knowledge through literature, practical experience, learning from others as well as attending courses to be able to work more independently with more complex R&D tasks. Participates in project work and project groups with professional and practicable input. Have recipe responsibility for technically less complicated products through maintenance and follow-up towards production and marketing departments to ensure that the quality of the product satisfies the market requirements and according to environmental regulations. Knowledge and use of the necessary safety equipment as described and to take into consideration general safety; this includes being able to understand the content and the meaning of safety data sheets. Attend to the daily order in the laboratory so that the workspace is tidy, safe, and pleasant.
