Learn more about working with Monash and what is Ancora Imparo. The Opportunity This position is responsible for the project \'Heat Care at SEACO\' funded by Wellcome Trust. The purpose of this study is to implement and evaluate behavioural and structural (cool roof) heat adaptation interventions to help manage the health effects of heat. To accomplish this goal, the study will employ design research, and causal impact research, as well as elucidating pathways of effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities The occupant will also provide significant support to research by performing a range of research related tasks including: Conduct statistical analysis, simulations, literature search and preparation of manuscripts and reports. Provide significant assistance in the preparation of documentation for grant applications, research ethic applications, and research and conference papers. To assist research team in the implementation of community-based heat adaptation interventions. To assist the research team in conducting economic evaluations. Prepare documentation of SEACO research output and performance for Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) report Keep abreast of developments, activities, and protocols in area of expertise through liaison with research supervisor and peers, reading relevant literature and attendance at meetings and research seminars. Comply with University policy, procedure, and protocols in relation to the nature of the research being conducted. Other duties as required within the scope of the classification of this position. Key Selection Criteria Education / Qualifications The candidate will have: a degree or master\'s degree in a relevant field (public health, bio-medical science, social science, health economics) with subsequent relevant experience, or extensive administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Knowledge And Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. A working knowledge of any one of the major languages spoken in Malaysia would be an advantage. Good interpersonal and EQ skills to manage key stakeholder relationships and people from a diverse range of backgrounds tactfully and courteously. Proven organisational and time management skills with a record of successfully prioritizing, coordinating and/or supporting projects through to completion in accordance with agreed standards, timeframes and other performance indicators. Strong software competency and proficiency with digital communication tools (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), R software for data analysis, or STATA.) Demonstrated high level of computer literacy and proficiency in the production of quality work using software such as Microsoft Office applications and specified University software programs, with the capability and willingness to learn new packages and computer programming languages. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and recommend solutions to challenging issues. Demonstrated ability to exercise substantial levels of independence, judgment, initiative and passionate in research. Experience and an ability to effectively analyse information and produce clear, succinct reports and documents Desirable Planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Hands-on and resourceful, willing to roll up his/her sleeves and do what is necessary Awareness and commitment to the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME). Prior experience in conducting research is an advantage. Able to work under minimum supervision. Required to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
