Resident Engineer (Site)

Role Purpose

To provide full-time on-site engineering leadership and technical supervision, ensuring construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on site. Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements. Act as the primary technical authority and interface on site. Coordinate with Resident Architect, Clerk of Works, M&E Inspectors, consultants, and contractors. Review and endorse method statements, shop drawings, and material submissions. Monitor workmanship quality and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and approvals. Identify defects, non-conformities, and technical risks; ensure timely rectification. Implement and maintain site quality control and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP). Monitor progress, report technical constraints, and support progress claims, variations, and EOT assessments. Maintain site records, inspection reports, and technical documentation.

Reporting Line

Reports to the

Project Manager

and works closely with the Resident Architect.

Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Civil / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical). Registered with

Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

(where applicable). Minimum

3-5 years

relevant site supervision experience. Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, and specifications. Familiar with quality management systems, safety, and statutory compliance. Proven ability to manage site coordination and technical issues.

Pay: From RM5,000.00 per month
