Work you will do

The objective of this role is to proactively manage the resource planning function for Consulting across the South East Asia region to enable our business to be even more agile in the ever evolving markets we work with, by providing the right people to the right projects at the right time across all our services. The Consulting business unit has 600 + client service facing practitioners based across various offices in the region. There is an ambitious plan to further expand the practice exponentially.

We are looking to recruit a Regional Resourcing Manager with a remit to take on a proactive role in managing the demand and supply, supports the Firm\'s strategy around agility and mobility of our people, identify issues affecting resourcing performance, contributes to the achievement of Consulting revenue and profit targets by providing optimal resourcing solutions and working with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the leadership team.

This role is based in Kuala Lumpur and is focused around an effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the Consulting business unit, client service practitioners of all levels and other support functions.

Responsibilities

1. Staffing Fulfilment -

  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the business and be proactive in relation to the supply and demand challenges of the business.
  • Proactively engage with opportunity owners on upcoming resourcing requirements and understand the future skills demand.
  • Maintain awareness of leads, proposals and Firm\'s priorities for the purpose of making effective staffing decisions, optimizing utilization and balancing overall demand and supply.
  • Work closely with Recruitment team in building pipeline for future capacity planning.
  • Supervise the Resourcing team in deciding staffing options:
  • Fulfil resourcing request with the best option to fill the role within the required timeframe, considering all resources across the region and variable sourcing channels.
  • Identify the best staffing mix based on team composition, staff development needs, location preference and availability with most cost effective option.
  • Identify resources for proposal support.
  • Resolve scheduling-related conflicts, escalating to leadership team when necessary.
2. Practitioner Management -
  • Demonstrate/apply in-depth understanding of skills, capability and availability of resource pool.
  • Ensure good knowledge of individual consultants profiles, development needs and preferences
  • Interlock with Career Counsellors to understand the career aspirations of consultants.
  • Approve on bench consultants\' vacations by taking into consideration future project demand.
3. Utilisation Management:
  • Track monthly utilization of client service practitioners and work with leadership team to formulate action plans to close gaps between actual and targets.
  • Conduct analysis, plan and communicate reports/updates as required on utilization leakage, availability and project pipeline.

If you are someone with:
  • Degree in Mathematics, Business Studies, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 6-7 years experience. Prior experience in a resource management, manpower/workforce planning or similar role - ideally within a large professional or corporate environment.
  • Trusted advisor who provides balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower/workforce planning and resource management to the business.
  • Commercial and risk focused with good operational business acumen.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense and service oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to liaise, influence, challenge effectively and build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, with the ability to manage complex conflict between numerous parties.
  • Ability to adapt to ever-changing environment and able to handle competing priorities and parallel conversations.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solving and strong team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in managing a team.
