To design, implement, and deliver effective training programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of store teams in the Fresh and Grocery departments. This role ensures consistent operational excellence, food safety compliance, product quality, and customer service standards across all retail locations. By equipping team members with the necessary tools and training, the specialist supports business goals related to sales growth, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
Training Design & Development
Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, SOPs, and e-learning modules
Customize training content to align with company standards, regional requirements, and brand objectives.
Training Delivery
Conduct classroom, in-store, and on-the-job training sessions for store staff, foreign worker, and manager.
Ensure consistent training delivery across all locations to maintain operational excellence and brand consistency.
Operational Excellence Support
Provide guidance and training on best practices in inventory control, food handling, and freshness management.
Train teams on seasonal and promotional activities to drive sales and customer engagement.
Food Safety & Quality Standards
Educate staff on food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and product quality management.
Monitor compliance through regular audits and feedback loops and retrain where necessary.
Performance Monitoring & Evaluation
Assess training effectiveness through KPIs such as sales performance, shrinkage reduction, and customer satisfaction.
Identify skill gaps and propose targeted training interventions.
Collaboration with Operations & HR
Work closely with Regional Managers, Area Manager, Store Managers, and HR teams to identify training needs and support career development paths.
Align training programs with business strategies and talent development goals.
Onboarding & Continuous Learning
Facilitate onboarding programs for new hires
Promote a culture of continuous learning and skills improvement across all levels.
Qualification & Experience Requirements:
Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Retail Management, Food Science, or related field.
Professional certification in Training & Development (e.g., TTT Certified) is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in F&B or retail operations, preferably in Fresh (Poultry, Meat, Seafood) and Grocery departments.
Minimum 3 years of experience in training, coaching, or learning & development within retail or F&B.
Strong knowledge of Fresh & Grocery operations, including FIFO, wastage control, merchandising, and cold chain management.
Familiarity with food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for training materials, reporting, and presentations.
Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for training administration, tracking, and reporting.
Familiarity with e-learning platforms and digital training tools (e.g., Articulate, MS Teams, Zoom).
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate classroom, in-store, and on-the-job training.
Analytical mindset to measure training effectiveness through KPIs (e.g., sales, shrinkage, customer satisfaction). Skilled in stakeholder management and aligning training programs with business strategies and talent development goals.
Strong planning and organizational skills to manage training schedules and deployment across multiple locations.
