Team Leader, Collection (Malaysia & Singapore)

About the Role

As a Team Leader for the Collection team in Malaysia and Singapore, you will be responsible for building strong, long-term relationships with assigned clients while ensuring effective debt recovery aligned with company policies and strategies.

This role requires excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills to drive collection performance and support business objectives. You will oversee a team of collection agents, work closely with external agencies, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor debtors and ensure timely collection of overdue accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes. Supervise and coach collection agents in their daily operations. Track and analyze performance metrics, taking corrective action when needed. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external collection agencies (MY & SG) for effective recovery. Conduct performance deep dives and propose improvements to enhance results. Prepare and present reports on collection performance supported by data insights. Support new product development and process enhancement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations. Provide assistance during internal and external audits.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with

3-5 years of relevant experience

in collections, preferably in Corporate/SME banking, fintech, or e-commerce. Experience leading a team of

8-15 collection agents.

Strong communication, negotiation, and people management skills. Highly adaptable with a logical and analytical mindset. Strong data storytelling skills; able to present insights effectively. Proficient in

MS Office

and databases; knowledge of

SQL, VBA Macro, or coding

is a plus. Fluent in

Bahasa Malaysia and English

;

Mandarin

proficiency is an advantage. Experience in fast-paced, tech-driven environments preferred. Able to work under pressure, think creatively, and meet deadlines.

12-month contract (renewable based on performance)

3 months

Salary:

RM 5,500 per month

Allowance:

Medical claim up to RM 50 per month
