Ensure an effective and standardised Risk Management and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) process across the specific sites, Platforms and Functions within the area of accountability established.
Responsible to embed within Operations a robust and holistic Risk & Resilience Management and governance process. Support Sites, Functions and Platforms in the End-to-End Risk & Resilience cycle from proactive risk identification to ensure effective risks mitigation actions and oversight, maintaining a strong connection of Risk & Resilience with the Strategic Objectives of the business area. Ensure Risks with potential Business Continuity impact are managed effectively and BC Plans are updated accordingly ensuring preparedness to disruptive events.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Embed risk-based approach principles and risk assessment tools for the Sites and Functions of their accountability to support strategic decision making.
  • Drive the Risk & Resilience capability building agenda on the Sites/Functions of their accountability and embed the Risk & Resilience governance process across Sites/Functions of their accountability.
  • Support and engage the Site Functions to ensure they have the tools and capabilities to identify and self-assess their functional risks in a standard manner according to Operations ERM Calendar and guideline. Risk coordinator for the Sites/Functions of his/her accountability ensuring alignment of Sites practices with the Enterprise Risk Management guidelines and Novartis Risk & Resilience timelines.
  • Continuously identify and propose opportunities of improvement to streamline and further improve the Risk & Resilience Management process aiming to integrate and evaluating risk from multiple sources. Manage and coordinate the Site Risk Profile and conduct Risk Reviews against ERM timelines to ensure consistent discussions and monitoring of top Risks.
  • Provide complete Site Risk Profile overview to Strategic Product Leader.
  • Alignment with Supply Risk Management and participation in the Supply Risk Management workshops, for the products within the area of accountability.
  • Accountable to monitor the progress up to completion of SRM actions impacting Sites of accountability.
  • Ensure site Risk & Resilience Objectives are defined in alignment with ERC Operations and Technology Platforms Objectives. Support the role out and implementation of new Digital Tools used to support Risk & Resilience Management across Operations.
Minimum requirements

Minimum requirements
  • University degree in technical or scientific degree
8 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing/Operations
  • Experience in risk management or business continuity management is an advantage
  • High energy level to drive improvements and changes with direct impact on business results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially influencing leadership skills. Demonstrated collaboration skills to allow effectively working in a matrix organization and multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Leader in developing clear, insight-driven communications for all levels (written and verbal). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; very strong business acumen combined with thorough program management and change management skills
