Policy and Procedure Development & Implementation:
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA) and other relevant regulations (e.g., Factories and Machinery Act 1967).
Ensure all policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes in legislation and best practices.
Communicate health and safety policies and procedures effectively to all employees.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses thoroughly to determine root causes and recommend preventative actions.
Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
Ensure timely reporting of notifiable accidents and dangerous occurrences to the relevant authorities (e.g., Department of Occupational Safety and Health - DOSH).
Monitoring and Inspection:
Conduct regular workplace inspections to monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Identify unsafe conditions and practices and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain records of inspections and follow up on any identified issues.
Qualifications:
Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Health and Safety Officer
Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA) and other relevant Malaysian health and safety regulations.
Familiarity with ISO 45001 or other relevant health and safety management systems is an advantage
