SAFETY OFFICER (BASED IN JOHOR BAHRU)



POSITION SUMMARY



We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Officer to oversee and enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at our project site. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety policies, conducting inspections and training, and ensuring full compliance with statutory regulations and company safety procedures. This role is vital in promoting a culture of safety, preventing accidents, and ensuring the wellbeing of all personnel on site

RESPONSIBILITIES



Implement, monitor, and enforce the company's Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies, procedures, and regulations at the project site. Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational safety laws, statutory requirements, and local authority regulations. Prepare and maintain safety documentation including safety reports, accident/incident investigations, risk assessment records, and safety checklists. Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions for workers and subcontractors. Ensure all workers and visitors on site adhere to proper safety practices and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and government agencies (such as DOSH and CIDB) regarding safety matters and inspections. Promote safety awareness and continuously improve workplace safety culture among all site personnel. Assist in emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and evacuation procedures. Report and follow up on all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly. Support the Project Manager and management team in achieving overall safety and environmental performance goals. Perform any other safety-related duties as assigned by the superior.

QUALIFICATION



Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline. Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Malaysia (preferred). Minimum 2-5 years of relevant working experience in the construction or property development industry. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, FMA, CIDB, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide others on safety practices. Proactive, responsible, and detail-oriented with excellent observation and reporting skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with site documentation and reporting procedures. Able to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure in a fast paced construction environment
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12-16 months

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
