Job Summary: The System Administrator involves managing and maintaining Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), formerly known as SCCM. You will be responsible for deploying software, managing updates, and ensuring systems stay secure and compliant. This role requires experience with MECM/SCCM, PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, and Windows Server. You'll also help troubleshoot issues and apply best practices to support a stable and secure IT environment, especially within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
System Management & Software Deployment:
Manage the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM)
Deploy software packages, updates, and patches to Windows endpoints
Schedule and monitor deployments to ensure successful delivery and minimal user disruption
Endpoint Compliance & Security
Ensure endpoints are compliant with internal IT policies and regulatory standards
Implement baseline configurations, security updates, and health checks
Support antivirus and endpoint protection integration with MECM
Troubleshooting & Performance Monitoring
Monitor MECM performance and resolve issues related to deployment failures, reporting, or client communication
Troubleshoot software installation errors, update rollouts, and connectivity issues
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-platform and infrastructure-related problems
Scripting & Automation
Use PowerShell scripts to automate routine MECM tasks, reporting, and system checks
Assist in developing task sequences for OS deployment and application installations
Contribute to improving operational efficiency through automation and scripting best practices
Documentation & Collaboration
Maintain documentation of MECM configurations, deployment processes, and procedures
Work closely with security, infrastructure, and service desk teams to support end-user environments
Provide technical support for MECM-related issues in both production and test environments
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience:
1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT system administration.
Exposure to Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) or similar endpoint management platforms
Experience with SQL queries for reporting and data extraction
Technical Skills:
Understand of SCCM architecture, including distribution points, collections, task sequences, and reporting
Basic PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting tasks
Exposure to cloud-based endpoint tools like Intune or Microsoft Endpoint Manager is a plus
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
Able to follow clear processes in secure, regulated environments (like banking)
Good communication and teamwork skills
Detail-oriented and proactive in monitoring and supporting systems
