Position : Scissor Lift Foreman / Lead

Job Overview

The Scissor Lift Foreman oversees and coordinates all scissor lift operations on the project site, ensuring safe usage, proper handling, timely deployment, and smooth workflow. This role leads a team of operators, enforces safety compliance, and works closely with site supervisors, safety personnel, and project managers to support elevated work platform activities throughout the construction project.

Job Responsibilities:

Scissor Lift Operations & Coordination

oPlan, schedule, and assign scissor lift tasks according to site needs.

oEnsure efficient deployment and proper allocation of scissor lifts to designated work areas.

oMonitor daily operations to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Safety & Compliance

oEnforce the use of PPE and adherence to site safety regulations.

oConduct daily toolbox briefings focused on elevated work platform safety.

oVerify all operators have valid certifications and comply with safe operating procedures (SOPs).

oReport unsafe behaviors, near misses, and incidents immediately to the Safety Officer.

Equipment Inspection & Maintenance

oPerform pre-operation inspections to confirm scissor lifts are safe and operational.

oCoordinate servicing, repairs, and replacement of defective equipment with the maintenance team.

oMaintain accurate records of equipment usage, inspection checklists, and service logs.

Team Supervision & Training

oLead, guide, and monitor scissor lift operators to ensure work productivity and quality.

oTrain new operators on equipment handling, safety practices, and site standards.

oAssess operator performance and provide coaching, feedback, or corrective action when necessary.

Documentation & Reporting

oMaintain daily reports on operations, operator attendance, and equipment allocation.

oPrepare inspection forms, incident reports, and scissor lift usage summaries.

oCommunicate daily operational updates and challenges to site management.

Job Requirement :

oMinimum SPM / equivalent qualification; technical or vocational certification is an added advantage.

oAt least 3-5 years of experience in construction site operations, with hands-on exposure to scissor lift or elevated work platform (EWP) activities.

oValid Scissor Lift/EWP Operator Certification (e.g., IPAF, OSHA, CIDB, or equivalent).

oStrong knowledge of safety regulations, PPE usage, and safe operating procedures (SOPs) for elevated work platforms.

oExperience in supervising site workers or equipment operators, preferably in a construction or high-risk environment.

oAbility to perform equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate maintenance or repairs.

oGood communication skills to liaise with site supervisors, safety officers, subcontractors, and operators.

oAbility to prepare daily reports, equipment logs, inspection checklists, and operational documentation.

oPhysically fit to handle on-site supervision, equipment checks, and long hours on the construction site.

oStrong leadership, discipline enforcement, and problem-solving skills.

oAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-risk construction environment, including weekends or extended hours when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
