Responsibilities for Secondary IGCSE Teachers: * Be a mentor to youth and participate as a positive role model to build and nurture character in underprivileged youth;

  • Well-versed with any specific IGCSE subjects syllabus - English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, ICT
  • Main responsibility to prepare lesson plans and guide students to excel in understanding and mastery of IGCSE subjects and rigor
  • Homeroom teacher role to look after welfare of students
  • Monitor, evaluate, record and report on the academic progress and development and as well as character development of one's students
  • Participate actively in school activities and programs which includes Dignity's events; and
  • Attend professional development courses and workshops organized by Dignity and its Education Department
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Responsibilities for Youth Leaders: * Plan and organize character building-focused camps & workshops that instill discipline and strong character in youths
  • Plan and run academic lessons for subjects such as - English, Mathematics, Global Perspectives, and Entrepreneurship
  • Conduct lessons with socio-emotional learning components that empower youths to apply SEL in daily life
  • Follow up on students' welfare and disciplinary issues through conducting one-to-one meetings and home visits
  • Evaluate youths' academic and soft skills development through termly assessments
  • Carry out and complete administrative responsibilities including welfare and wellness applications
  • Build and maintain relationship with youths' parents to form a partnership in supporting youths' holistic development
  • Participate actively in school activities and programs which includes Dignity's events; and attend professional development courses and workshops organized by Dignity and its Education Department
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Qualifications

Abilities & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to take self-initiative to prepare lessons and be creative in getting students to engage in lessons
  • High integrity and discipline in terms of self-management: personal grooming, attendance, lessons, communication with supervisor and team mates
  • Maturity to handle student issues that may arise and high accountability in abiding in child protection policy
  • Team player, working with a group of diverse team members and have cultural sensitivity to the student population
  • Must be able to travel outstation to the Farm Academy for education camps and workshops with students - duration usually at least a week up to three weeks
  • Relatively fit and healthy physically to participate in weekly sports sessions with student and to coach during sports activities/lessons
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Education field preferred but not mandatory)
  • Teaching certifications and experience in teaching or leadership preferred but not necessary
  • Has some experience in program development, curriculum writing and research skills
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create productive and healthy relationships
  • Ability to collaborate and work with teams
  • Ability to work independently
