Security Specialist - Auditing and Investigations



Cost Centre: Security Operations


Location: Kuala Lumpur


Reporting To: Japan Security Manager


Full-Time, Permanent


Working Hours: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Aligned with Japan Time Zone; may include weekends and Malaysian public holidays)



Basic Salary: RM 3,500



WFH Allowance: RM 150



Overview



The Security Specialist will work closely with the Japan and Global Security Teams to manage mid-level, high-volume security operations. This role plays a critical part in strengthening and standardizing incident response and audit programs across test centers in Japan and internationally. Key responsibilities include coordinating secret shop activities, conducting DVR audits, supporting forensic reviews, and identifying anomalies in testing outcomes. The Security Specialist also acts as a key liaison between the Security Team and internal/external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities DVR Monitoring & Audits



Conduct regular DVR (Digital Video Recording) checks to ensure compliance with established security protocols. Identify irregularities and report deviations promptly.

Secret Shop Coordination



Schedule, manage logistics, and score global secret shop visits. Prepare detailed reports on findings and ensure proper grading procedures are followed.

Investigations



Support the Security Manager in investigations by gathering evidence, reviewing footage, and drafting clear, factual incident reports.

Forensic Review & Analysis



Carry out weekly DVR reviews following forensic analysis. Detect anomalies in test outcomes (e.g., unusual pass rates) and escalate findings appropriately.

Stakeholder Reporting



Prepare client-facing security summaries and reports. Collaborate with internal departments to align on consistent audit standards and procedures.

Compliance & SLA Management



Support compliance with customer-specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the security operations function.

Qualifications



Japanese language proficiency preferred (not mandatory). Experience in the security industry, particularly in audits, investigations, CCTV monitoring, or incident response, is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration during extended video audit/review sessions. Background in compliance, quality assurance, or forensic analysis is beneficial. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and globally coordinated environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for preparing accurate, client-facing reports.

Additional Notes



This is a full-time position with potential travel and on-site office work when required. Work schedule follows Japan's testing calendar, which may include weekends and holidays.
