Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate / IP Lawyer to join our client's Penang office. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience with strong exposure in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating intellectual property agreements and clauses. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in high-level strategic work, advising clients on both corporate and IP matters.



Key Responsibilities

1) Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of IP-related agreements, clauses, and corporate commercial contracts.

2)Advise on intellectual property protection, licensing, assignment, and enforcement strategies.

3)Provide strategic input on corporate and IP transactions, including due diligence and structuring.

4)Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and deliver tailored legal solutions.

5)Support the team on corporate advisory matters, including M&A, joint ventures, and compliance.

6) Engage in high-level strategic discussions with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

Key Requirements

1) Minimum 4 years PQE, with solid experience in corporate and intellectual property law.

2) Strong drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail.

3) Demonstrated experience in handling IP-related contracts and strategic advisory work.

4) Business-oriented mindset with the ability to provide practical legal solutions.

5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

7) Language proficiency: While not mandatory, the ability to communicate in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Penang Hokkien will be a strong advantage.
