We are looking for a Senior Associate, PR & Offline Activation to join the team here in Malaysia. You will be responsible for Klook's media outreach and communications, building relationships with key media outlets and supporting Klook's product launches and campaign efforts through PR. You will also be responsible for attracting new travelers through earned media efforts, offline initiatives and strategic partnerships with both traditional and digital media platforms.
What you'll do:
Lead Klook Malaysia's PR objectives and build brand love for Klook via earned media efforts and offline activations
Support key business announcements and brand campaigns through earned media
Develop and execute a plan for always-on media outreach and engagement, covering a range of stories including corporate positioning and thought leadership with the objective of maximizing Klook's share of voice in the market and to build brand affinity within targeted communities
Build and maintain good relationships with influencers, key opinion leaders, key business, travel, technology and lifestyle media
Identify and drive strategic media, influencer and community partnerships with the view of increasing consumer awareness for Klook and its brand proposition and product offering
Identify key industry events beneficial to Klook's brand and ensure presence and visibility in these events
Identify and grow content partnerships with key media and content creators and develop creative ways to boost brand exposure, traffic, conversions and user acquisition
Plan and manage events, meet-ups with targeted communities where necessary
Support with issues / crisis management where necessary
Collaborate with Klook Global Comms team in executing regional or global campaigns for the local market
What you'll need:
Minimum 3 years experience in strategic communications or public relations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong media relations and a good understanding of the Malaysia media landscape
A proven track record in earned media storytelling, preferably in the travel and lifestyle space
Proficiency with identifying proactive opportunities to pitch media stories based on industry or consumer trends
Experience with crafting messaging, communications plans and media materials
Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills in English & Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is a plus point.
Strong time and project management skills, with attention to detail and understanding of how e-commerce works
Experience in organising and project manage on-ground events or offline activations
A start-up attitude - highly collaborative with an entrepreneurial, roll-up your sleeves mindset. Not afraid to work independently when required
