Senior Business Analyst (account System)

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in accounting systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with finance, IT, and other business units to analyze, design, and implement systems that meet the company\'s accounting and financial reporting needs. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our financial systems are optimized, compliant, and aligned with overall business objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering: Engage with stakeholders from the finance department, accounting teams, and other business units to understand their needs and translate them into technical and functional specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing business processes related to accounting and financial reporting. Identify opportunities for improvement and propose efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • System Implementation: Lead or assist in the implementation, configuration, and customization of accounting software or ERP systems. Ensure that financial workflows are properly integrated with other business systems.
  • Financial Reporting: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that accounting systems meet the organization\'s reporting and compliance requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Develop or enhance reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in accounting systems by establishing data governance processes. Provide recommendations for improving data quality and accessibility.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans for system upgrades or new implementations. Work closely with QA teams to ensure smooth deployment.
  • User Training & Support: Provide training to end-users on new features, functionalities, and best practices. Serve as the point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to accounting systems.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, consultants, and IT teams involved in accounting system projects.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including business process models, workflows, and system requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. ACCA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on accounting systems or financial systems (e.g., ERP, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable).
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in SQL, MYOB, or Xero.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Experience with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks).
  • Skills:
  • Proven ability to map out business processes and convert them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and financial reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Experience with Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies.
