Job Title: Senior Category Manager Direct Materials & Indirect Materials/Services
Department: 3814 - Direct Materials
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Overview:
The Senior Category Manager supports both direct and indirect materials and services procurement for Insulets manufacturing operations in Southeast Asia. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and execution of end-to-end sourcing strategies and procurement processes across all direct material categories that deliver value to the business by improving quality, ensuring high delivery and service performance, ensuring capacity, reducing total cost of ownership, mitigating supply risk, and driving continuous improvement work.
Working closely with local stakeholders and Global Indirect Procurement, the successful candidate will also work to understand business requirements, identify appropriate suppliers, coordinate RFP/RFQ processes and bid reviews, and manage through award and execution. This includes contracting and contract amendments, achieving new pricing agreements, and serving as the single point of contact for providing suppliers with direction and feedback.
Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Insulet Category Manages and key stakeholders to develop and implement global sourcing strategies that continuously improve quality, delivery, service, total cost of ownership, cash flow and mitigates risk in the supply chain.
• Monitor local category market conditions, risk, supplier innovation, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges & opportunities impacting Insulets Malaysia manufacturing operations.
• Ensure that suppliers in Southeast Asia can meet Insulets capacity requirements.
• Establish strong supplier relationships in Southeast Asia and manage supplier performance.
• Function as the primary escalation point for supplier management issues impacting Insulets Malaysia manufacturing operations and ensure timely resolution of issues and challenges.
• Collaborate with key business stakeholders and contribute to Quarterly Business reviews (QBRs) to measure and review supplier performance and ensure conformance to quality, delivery, service, cost, and risk mitigation goals.
• Contribute to the development and execution of negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and reduce total cost of ownership.

• Proactively identify and mitigate supply risk to ensure supply chain resiliency.
• Partner with stakeholders that need to procure outside materials or services to plan their annual spend.

• Lead RFP/RFQ processes and subsequent selection processes and negotiations for Indirect materials and services
• Lead local contract and pricing negotiations with suppliers.
• Lead the cross functional team that engages with suppliers on issues and continuous improvement.
• Identify, create, and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders.
• Perform other duties and lead projects as required.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:

• 10+ years of related Procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
• Prior experience selecting and managing direct material suppliers in Southeast Asia as well as demonstrated purchasing expertise and knowledge in indirect sourcing. Strong technical aptitude in semiconductor supply chain is a plus.
• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field; supply chain concentration preferred; MBA preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated history of measurable cost savings on an annual basis.
• Must possess the social intelligence to influence and lead at the most senior levels within the organization.
• Experience collaborating with multicultural teams in a global, fast-paced environment preferred.
• Professional certification (C.P.M., CPSM) a plus
• Experience using ERP systems (SAP S4 HANA a plus), MS Office, SharePoint, eProcurement and eSourcing systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Medical device or manufacturing experience highly preferred
