OverviewThis role is located in Malaysia.Company DescriptionOur client is a property management consultant aimed at providing world-class services including project management, property management, development services and strategic consulting.As the Senior MEP Cost Manager on-site, you will be overseeing various cost management activities, including but not limited to:Tendering and Procurement: Manage the pre-qualification stage. Create the tender list and preliminaries. Analyze tenders, produce tender reports, and compile contractual documents.Cost Monitoring and Valuation: Conduct cost checks and valuations, particularly on larger projects. Ensure timely and accurate cost monitoring and valuation.Measurement and Pricing: Measure works and develop pricing notes. Vet package bid forms, qualifications, and bidder lists for procurement packages.Procurement Administration: Handle procurement-related administration, management, and support. Provide regular progress and cost tracking reports. Report on the delivery status of procurement packages.Implementation Planning: Develop plans for achieving identified savings, including timing, resources, and program management.Cost and Contingency Advising: Advise on contingency percentages and projected cost escalations for labor and materials.Design and Negotiation Participation: Participate in design meetings, bid interviews, and negotiations. Evaluate contractors\xe2\x80\x99 estimates and provide professional advice.Negotiation and Sourcing: Lead negotiations for change orders and track progress. Conduct sourcing events such as RFQs and RFPs. Negotiate with bidders, award bids with Decision Analysis (DA), and draft Tender Recommendation Reports as needed.Validation and Recommendations: Validate GC cost of works, change orders, and monthly claim recommendations.Education and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management/Engineering, or a related field with at least 7 years of experience in relevant fields. Mus have strong technical expertise in various Cost Management duties, including Cost Estimates, Bills of Quantities, Value Engineering, Tendering and Evaluation, Contract Knowledge, Change Orders, and Final Account close-out.It is preferable to have experience in industrial sectors, data centers, high-tech manufacturing, or semiconductor projects. Background in consultancy with significant mechanical and electrical (M&E) work experience.
