As the Senior Data Analyst, you will play a key role in evolving, enabling and executing the SMEP Data and Information Management strategy as we support the implementation of the Asset of the Future using data and digitalisation technologies to deliver business efficiencies, automation and cost optimization. The Senior Data Analyst applies techniques such as business intelligence (BI), reporting and data modelling, analytical techniques and big data processing to provide the business with relevant information to increase oil and gas production and close the Asset Gap to Potential through Production Excellence by increasing Process Safety, improving Asset Availability, reducing deferment and driving cost optimization.
  • What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?
The Senior Data Analyst liaises with the business and developers internally and externally to deliver Information Management and Data solutions. Compares market standard solutions with in -house developed or legacy solutions and regularly provides consultation to the business. Ensures that business information and data requirements (as dictated by business processes) are fulfilled. Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities. The individual is expected to :
  • Collate business requirements, Analyze the value drivers and functional requirements, usability and supportability considerations.
  • Perform root cause analysis on Data problems and translate Data requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities and various solution options.
  • Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution during the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements from Data needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to training and transition.
  • Create acceptance criteria and validate that solution by testing and ensure it meet business needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their business objectives, constraints, risks, and operating environment
  • Present reports and findings to key stakeholders and be the subject matter expert on Data Analysis & Design.
  • Drive implementation efficiency and effectiveness across the pilots and future projects to minimize cost, increase speed of implementation and maximize value delivery.
  • Describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome. Adjust customer expectations in accordance with changes in scope.
Special Challenges includes:

Data Democratization: Promotes and manage data democratization and data accessibility to the business allowing them to have access data to build DIY data solutions.

Data Quality Improvement: Works closely with business stakeholders to identify and execute opportunities for data quality improvements within key business processes.

Cost Recoveries: Interfaces with JV partners and regulator for cost recoveries discussions related to the deployment of data solutions, supports the challenge process for the IT budget. Engages the IT team and business to develop business cases to justify our spend.

Functional Excellence: Part of the global Information and Data (I&D) community for sharing and obtaining best practices.
  • Role requirement
What We Need from You?
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree, in IT or Engineering with minimum 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the IT industry.
  • Expertise on Data Analysis techniques and processes. Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
  • Experienced in Data Management Framework & practices, Data Quality concepts like data cleansing, mapping.
  • Good understanding of system design, ingestion frameworks & Connection Services.
  • Experienced in Analysis Services, Data Modelling & Data Visualization tools like Power BI, SAC, \xe2\x80\xa2 Knowledge of the technology landscape including current and future developments and the most commonly available products and integrated solutions.
  • A skilled communicator capable of speaking to both technical developers, architects, and business stake holders.
  • Good understanding in data foundation initiatives, like data modelling, data quality, data governance, data maturity assessments and data strategy in support of the key business stake holders.
  • Strong interests and ability to understand business data strategy, value drivers, processes and challenges and to use this to identify opportunities for data quality improvements to drive greater business value.
  • Good knowledge on Collibra suit.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and very good in taking up new initiatives and driving them to closure.
  • Must have experience in working with AGILE, KANBAN methodologies.
  • Prior experience in deploying and managing data in document control and management tools, data modelling tools, instrumentation engineering tools and digital twin (e.g. Assai Cloud, PDMS, SPI and Kongsberg).
Nice to have Skills:
  • Collibra Certification
  • Implementation of data governance use case using Collibra.
  • Knowledge of the Business Intelligence technologies and their relevant functions (reporting, online analytical processing, analytics, data mining, business performance management, benchmarking etc).
  • Experience in Devops, Git Strategy & CICD Pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data standards for Engineering such as ISO 15926 and CFIHOS.
