Objectives of the Position

We are in search for a Data Science Platform team who will be responsible to empower business entities within BASF to drive maximum leverage from data to achieve business objectives. Our team develops innovative digital solutions for BASF and its customers, create exciting customer experience and business growth, and drive efficiencies in processes.

In this role, you will provide IT that works and offer know-how and access to latest technologies in the areas of Cloud Computing, Big Data and Analytics & AI.

Main Tasks

• Actively identify, plan, and implement developer tooling and automation
• Take active role in defining overall DevOps direction for Data Science Platform development
• Define, deploy, and manage infrastructure components using pipelines and IaC
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation, process improvement, and architecture improvements
• Update technical documentation, workflows, and knowledge base articles
• Troubleshoot and help remediate production environment failures
• Help to build DevSecOps Strategy and Practice to integrate cybersecurity into the organizational adoption.
• Advocate for software engineering practices such as unit testing, code reviews, full build testing, quality engineering practices and requirements capturing techniques to the teams to improve end to end secure delivery practices.

Requirements

Education

• A bachelor or master\'s degree in relevant Business/IT studies with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role

Working Experience

• 5 years of experience orchestrating and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep or ARM

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Expertise in creating automated CI/CD Pipelines with tools such as Azure Pipelines or GitLab pipelines
• Proficient in automating processes using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other scripting languages
• Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
• Deep understanding of cloud concepts including elasticity, security, governance, and identity management
• Expertise in source control methodologies such as pull requests, git, branches policies, and troubleshooting following industry best practices.
• Cloud experience (Microsoft Azure is a plus)

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional)

• Experience in large-scale analytics projects using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
• Hands-on experience developing workflows with Databricks
• Experience with Azure SQL DB, Azure Synapse Analytics (SQL DW)
• Experience working in agile (Scrum knowledge appreciated) with a DevOps mindset
• Hands-on experience developing microservices based architectures and the technologies that enable them (containers, REST APIs, messaging queues, etc.)
