KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise the Contractors on Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) regulatory & contractual requirements such as SEB Life Saving Rules (LSR), Procedures and Instructions, OSHA 1994, NREO 1993, EQA 1974, FMA 1967, CIDB Act 520, Approval Conditions of Social Environmental Impact Assessment (SEIA) by NREB, all relevant regulatory requirement and SEB Conditions of Contracts.
  • Review and implement HSSE management plans, procedures, and instructions covering, Environmental Management Plan, Biomass Removal Plan, Wildlife Monitoring and Rescue (WiMoR) and all related program/initiatives.
  • Conduct HSSE monitoring, intervention, and performance reporting covering Unsafe Act Unsafe Condition (UAUC), Management site walkabout, Inspections, spot check, audit (Tier 1, 2 & 3), Incident Investigation and prevention, HSAP Action Plans, HSSE monthly meeting, Baleh HSE Steering Committee Meeting, HSSE performance analysis, intervention plans and monthly reporting.
  • Develop and implement Action Plans to ensure compliance for certification for Hydropower Sustainability Standard (HSS).
  • Identify and implement HSSE legislative requirements, regular engagement with authorities to ensure on-site HSSE compliance and submit reports and notification as required by NREB, DOSH, KDHO, CIDB, DOE, PDRM and other relevant authorities.
  • Contribute to Project Delivery Excellence, Digitalisation and Commercial Excellence.
  • Mentor and coach the junior team in subject matter.
THINKING ENVIRONMENT & CHALLENGES:
  • Ability to assess risk, recommend measures including generate alternative options and makes a well-reasoned decision based on an analysis of the risks and opportunities with regards to project environment which include to comply with HSS.
  • Ability to lead / engage / coordinate in resolving interfacing issues affecting multi packages of Contractors including risk assessment and arrangement to ensure proper mitigation of HSSE risk and compliance including stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage the Contractors on HSSE requirements including to assert influence and enforce compliance without compromising on time, quality, and progress including institute consequence management.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor Degree of Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering or other related Engineering with minimum 6 to 8 years working experience in hydropower projects.
  • Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm water Inspector (CESSWI) will be an advantage.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
