Closing Date: 28 March 2024KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collect and analyze data related to energy consumption, fuel use, waste generation, and other relevant parameters to estimate GHG emissions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to gather accurate and comprehensive GHG data collection and accounting (e.g. National & State level).
  • Apply established GHG accounting protocols (e.g., GHG Protocol) to calculate emissions from different sources and activities.
  • Prepare accurate and transparent GHG inventory reports for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Conduct LCAs for products, processes, or services to evaluate their environmental impact from cradle to grave.
  • Identify and quantify key environmental factors for all SEB assets (e.g. hydro & thermal power plants, transmission and distribution assets etc.), such as GHG emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and material inputs.
  • Use appropriate LCA methodologies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of assessments.
  • Interpret LCA results and provide recommendations for improvement or mitigation strategies to enhance sustainability.
  • Organize and manage large datasets related to GHG emissions, energy use, and other environmental parameters.
  • Apply statistical techniques and software tools to analyse data and identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.
  • Develop models or tools to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including sustainability teams, regulatory bodies, and clients, to gather data and share findings.
  • Present GHG inventory and LCA results to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams or clients on sustainability strategies and initiatives based on analysis outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of evolving environmental regulations, standards, and reporting frameworks related to GHG emissions and sustainability.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging methodologies, tools, and best practices in GHG inventory and LCA methodologies.
SPECIAL ASPECTS/MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
  • To perform all the tasks in line with the Information Security Management System (ISMS), Information Governance Policy Suite, and Guidelines roles & responsibilities procedure.
  • The main aspect of the job is to understand and analyse the key challenges in assessment and identifying sustainability best practices as well as developing a strategy that is acceptable to the process owner.
  • Identifying creative and innovative solutions to embed sustainability basic best practices into SEB\'s hydropower project development and getting buy-in from the process owner.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Environmental Sciences from universities and institutions of higher learning recognized by the Company and at least 8 - 10 years relevant working experience in the power utility or similar industry.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
