Develop and establish the annual Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plan, including setting targets and action plans to enhance OHS processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain the OHS Manual--comprising OHS policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions--in alignment with OSHMS ISO 45001:2018 standards.
Plan and coordinate with relevant regulatory and authority bodies for assessments (e.g., CHRA, NRA, IAQ) and mandatory inspections (e.g., Certificate of Fitness inspection and renewal).
Plan, coordinate, and manage OHS internal and external audits with internal units and external certification bodies to ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
Serve as the Secretary of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee, managing and supporting sub-committees as required.
Review and provide advice on investigations related to near misses, incidents, and accidents in accordance with legal requirements, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions to management.
Train, guide, and collaborate with the University's stakeholders on implementing OHS procedures in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 standards and the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2020.
Organize and collaborate with internal and external parties to promote OHS awareness through campaigns, training programs, briefings, and orientations.
Plan and manage the annual training programs for the Emergency Response Team, OHS Committee, and related working groups. Provide recommendations on suitable OHS training to other units.
Work effectively as part of a team, contributing input, advice, and assistance as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution, with at least three (3) years of related work experience.
Certified and registered with DOSH as an OSH Coordinator.
Proficient in Occupational Safety and Health Management System (ISO 45001:2018) standards, including implementation and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 and other related laws, regulations, guidelines, and codes of practice.
Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with Green Book certification or currently pursuing the final stage of the Green Book competency (an advantage).
Certified ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor or IRCA Certified Lead Auditor (an advantage).
