KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understand and perform analysis of Corporate Modeling: oversight over medium to long term financial forecasting for scenario planning, credit rating (RAM, S&P, Moody, etc.), strategic risk assessments, funding purposes, valuation, etc. Recognize the wider range of factors affecting the financial projection and generate alternatives/ approaches to support strategic/ business plan.
  • Lead project economic analysis for capital investments (generation, network, rural electrification, strategic initiatives, etc.)
  • Execute acquisition and divestment valuation, tariff analysis (regulated & negotiated), demand supply analysis, cost of supply analysis, PPA/ PEA commercial terms, peer benchmarking, or special projects assigned.
  • Provide an active support on Commercial Excellence KFA initiatives: Champion the economics module of SE02 & SE03 training program.
CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
  • Integrate each business entities financial projections into complex Corporate Modelling.
  • Interpret complex and unstructured analysis for recommendation to the management in supporting value-based decision making.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant working experience, preferably with working knowledge in corporate financial modelling and analysis, project or business planning.
  • Experience in utility business is an added advantage.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Strong in corporate modelling and project economic analysis, including capital investment appraisal techniques for setting strategic/ business plan and supporting decision making in the areas of strategic planning.
  • Evaluate potential investment opportunities/ crisis through scenario analysis and create business cases to support the recommended proposal/ strategy.
  • Ability to use the appropriate functions in Microsoft Excel to carry out modelling for economic analysis, forecasting & reporting.
  • Ability to identify key financial, technical & economic factors impacting the analysis and analyse data for reasonableness.
  • Ability to interpret the meaning of analysis through application of value-based decision making to achieve Sarawak Energy\'s objectives and maximize value delivery.
  • Good business acumen & commercial background.
