The role is part of a high performing team centered on Finance transformation and becoming a best-in-class Finance organization.
The CAPEX Senior Controller is primarily responsible for the Capex and Asset management for the designated manufacturing sites and supports preparation of budgets and forecasts (Budget / F1 / F2 / Quarterly Landings / Rolling Forecast), monthly closings (sales & expense reviews, scorecards), project approval and tracking, and other financial planning & analysis activities on a timely basis.
This position will work across a wide range of organizational stakeholders which include internal control, Global BU, manufacturing teams and Boost to ensure all internal and external factors are anticipated and properly accounted for in the Sites Finance Strategy.
Main responsibilities:
Oversee the proper opening and closing of capital projects each fiscal year
Monthly reviews and monitoring of authorized spend vs. budget
Ensure timely capitalization of projects
Ensure periodic Capex reporting in different Sanofi tools
Ensure FA Capitalization according to asset classification useful life
Ensure proper tagging of physical assets
Ensure compliance with Group Methods & procedures to Asset management across designated region
Reviews of work-in-process equipment
Ensure compliance of local project accounting rules with Sanofi accounting guidelines and IFRS
Maintain current knowledge of relevant Financial and Management accounting rules and Sanofi Group accounting procedures
Partner effectively with function and procurement to achieve smart spending objectives by reducing external costs
Work effectively across multiple ERP systems, iShift, Shine, Oracle, etc., and reporting tools, Boost, etc., used in Manufacturing and Supply
Increase Financial and business acumen
Ensure compliance with pertinent SOX controls
Ensure compliance with all internal control requirements
Promote simplification, efficiencies and improved ways of working across designated MnS sites and ensure best practice sharing
Build strong partnerships with Finance Business Partners (FBP), promoting information-sharing and close collaboration to best support the functions locally and globally
Educate client groups on all aspects of financial policies and processes to ensure compliance
Create a positive, supportive and inclusive atmosphere for team and neighboring functions despite uncontrollable circumstances
Support all key Finance initiatives
Ad hoc projects as required
About you
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a diversified financial controlling or accounting
Soft skills:
Demonstrated results building partnerships with multi-levels across businesses required.
Must have the ability to influence and shape business decisions.
Must have high attention to detail, quality and proven ability to operate effectively under pressure and strict deadlines
Ability to lead through influence including demonstrated facilitator skills
Strong organization skills: ability to track and manage a high volume of projects at a detailed level
Ability to develop a rapport and credibility with key stakeholders
Ability to work effectively across international work streams
Demonstrated organization savvy and self- awareness
Adaptable and able to work in complex matrix environment

Technical skills:
Advanced excel skills
Must be able to download data and use pivot tables, V-look ups, macros, etc.
Demonstrated experience modeling ethical behavior in challenging situations required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and strategic thinking
Proven experience working across multiple internal stakeholders
Technology savvy, business orientation, and agile learning abilities required
Capable of working in multiple systems and tools
Solid grasp of evolving Sanofi technology platforms, processes, and controls including SAGA
Education:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Preferred:
MBA and/or CPA
Pharmaceutical and public accounting experience
Commercial, Industrial Finance and Gross to Net
TM1 and SAP experience
