Job Description


THE OPPORTUNITY Our partner, an Australian fund manager founded in 2006 and manages over AUD $2.9 billion on behalf of its clients, is currently looking for a Senior Fund Accountant! They are independently owned with an experienced team of 45 investment professionals focused on healthcare property, property finance, and global investments. The Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for supporting the finance team with financial, tax and management reporting for our corporate entities and unlisted funds. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, diligent, professional, and keen to work within a high-performing team in a growing funds management business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated fund accounts in accordance with agreed monthly timetable
  • Preparation of the funds statutory financial statements including preparing working papers and responding to audit queries
  • Preparation of fund monthly unit prices
  • Calculating and paying distributions on a timely basis
  • Preparation and review of the fund\xe2\x80\x99s income tax calculations, forecasts and tax returns
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Processing of accruals & related journal entries
  • Liaising with third party property management firms on cash flows, budgets and accounting matters
  • Cash Flow forecasting
  • Preparation periodic BASs.
  • Assisting the investment team in the management of property operations including the on-boarding of new property acquisitions.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • The role would suit a qualified CA accountant with 10+ years\' experience in a Business Services (Audit) and/or property funds management.
  • Excellent numeracy and accounting skills
  • Taxation experience in property and investment funds
  • Knowledge of best practice risk management and compliance practices in funds management businesses
  • Proactive and works well autonomously with minimal guidance
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Yardi) and Excel
  • The ability to work as part of a team to support other business areas; and
  • Excellent attention to detail.
